Skogskyrkogården (The Forest Cemetery) is a UNESCO world heritage site in Stockholm, with more than 90 000 graves on an area of one square kilometer. Several famous persons are buried at this cemetery, among them lies Greta Garbo (1905-1990), the world famous actress.
At the main entrance of Skogskyrkogården a large cross is situated. It is one of the most photographed sites in Stockholm, here is my version.

Yesterday, July 30th 2009, Nikon introduced the D300S.

.
The D300S is a refreshed version of its successful mid-level DSLR, the D300. Compared to the D300, it offers full 720p HD video recording, a faster 7 fps continuous shooting and Dual CF and SD card slots.

As mentioned in my previous post I would post an image from my time at the south east coast around Stockholm.
While we were camping on the island Eriksö near Vaxholm, which is about a 30min drive north of Stockholm, we took an evening walk to capture the evening colors. We passed by the local boat clud when I captured the below image. Luckily there were no swimmers anymore and there was just a slight breeze so I could use the needed long exposure time.

This image was taken with a Nikon D300 and a Nikon AF-S DX 17-55mm lens @ 17mm; f/16.0 – 8sec – ISO200.

Within a few days, on July 18th to be exact, the Scott Kelby’s second-annual worldwide photo walk will take place. This massive global event will include over 900 walks with more than 22 000 photographers participating.

.
Click here to read more about the worldwide photo walk and view the images taken as soon as they have been uploaded after the walk.
In my hometown, Stockholm, two photo walks are organised. An “early bird” walk, which will start at 04:00 in front of the Grand Hotel, and an evening walk starting at 19:00 at Nybroplan. Click here or here for the respective Stockholm photo walks.
Unfortunately I will not be able to participate on either walk as I will be travelling on the south east coast of Sweden. In a future post I will show you images from my personal photo walk…

At the end of June I spent a few days camping at Farstanäs in Järna, which is about a 45min drive south of Stockholm. In the evenings I had easy access to the archipelago and spent several hours each evening to test my Lee ND Grad filter system. Between 21:30 and 23:00 the sky light was amazing and the reflections in the water spectacular.

This image was taken with a Nikon D300 and a Nikon AF-S DX 18-70mm lens @ 25mm; f/20.0 – 20sec – ISO200.
